On Cicero

From his writings:

Elements of a well-led life:

A) Wisdom, which is deeply entwined with rectitude (Tusculum V)

B) Responsibility(ies) (On Duties II)

C) Friendship(s) (On Friendship)

From his life: was it possible to love the Republic too much? Senate incapable of competent administration of the Empire. Cicero lives and practices on principle until abridging principle to support Octavian as the last best hope. Pays the ultimate price after standing down, yet refusing to abandon Rome. His last lonely walk 12 miles back to Rome leaves enough time for agents of the triumverate to detain and execute him.
